Creating tasks in your CRM helps you keep your team accountable, schedules organized, and ensures all pending actions are taken care of. And you might be used to adding tasks to customers. Whenever you have a task that needs to be completed with multiple contacts, opportunities, or objects across your system, creating an individual entry for each is time-consuming. So, follow along to learn how to link multiple objects to a single task!

Creating A Task

To create a new task, you can head to the Tasks tab inside the Contacts section and click + Add Task.

Or click “+ Add” in the Tasks section of a contact's details.

In the task module, enter a title (1) and a due date (2) for your task.

Set your task as Recurring (1) if it needs to be performed more than once, and set an assignee to notify that team member (2).

Open the “Associate To” menu and select the kind of object(s) to include. You can pick multiple types of objects to include at once.

Click + Add, then select the object you want to connect. You may include up to 10 of each object type.

Once you're ready, click Save in the bottom right corner.

Modifying an Existing Task

If you need to add objects to an existing task, locate the task and click the pencil icon next to it.

If you've associated the task with an object already, open the “Associate To” menu to add new object types if needed.

Click + Add, then select the object(s) you want to connect.

Once you're ready, click Save in the bottom right corner.

There you have it, making it easy to create a single follow-up task for multiple Opportunities, manage coordinated events with multiple Custom Objects or Companies, and more. Bridging Contacts, Opportunities, Companies, and Custom Objects with a single task to reduce manual load. We hope you enjoy it!
